Johanna Schvey is a Legal & Executive Recruiter at Turner Brown based in our Midtown Manhattan office, where she brings nearly two decades of experience advising clients at the intersection of finance, legal strategy, and innovation. Prior to joining Turner Brown, Johanna worked extensively across the distressed debt and covenant analysis landscape, developing a reputation for sharp analytical insight and collaborative problem-solving. Her work has spanned global markets and a broad client base, including leading banks, investment funds, law firms, advisory shops, insurance companies, and private institutions.

Known for her thoughtful approach and deep commitment to client relationships, Johanna partners with legal and business leaders navigating complex growth, restructuring, and transformation initiatives. She is particularly attuned to the evolving needs of law firms, legal departments and financial organizations, and she brings a nuanced understanding of how talent, technology, and cross-sector expertise shape modern legal teams.

Johanna’s career has also included founding-level involvement in fintech innovation, most notably helping launch a blockchain platform designed to reduce error and improve efficiency in ledger systems across financial institutions, in collaboration with governmental stakeholders. This work reflects her broader interest at the confluence of legal, financial, and technical disciplines—and her passion for helping clients think several steps ahead.

Johanna holds a dual degree in Applied Economics & Management and Communications from Cornell University. Outside of work, she is an active philanthropist and dedicated volunteer with several organizations close to her heart, including Louie’s Legacy, where she mentors fellow fosters, and Children of Fallen Patriots. A spirited adventurer and competitive saltwater angler, Johanna brings the same discipline and drive to her personal pursuits that she brings to every client engagement.
